  • Federal Agency for Technical Relief

    The Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) is the Federal Government's honorary response organisation and is part of the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Home Affairs. Its mission includes civil protection and disaster control within Germany. In addition, the THW carries out missions around the globe on behalf of the German government.

  • Federal Office of Civil Protection and Distaster Assistance (BBK)

    The Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK) has been the central federal agency for civil protection in Germany since 2004. In the BBK, all sectors of civil security preparedness are combined in an interdisciplinary manner and thus into an effective protection system for the entire population.

  • Institute of the North Rhine-Westphalian Fire Service

    The Institute of the North-Rhine Westphalian Fire Service (Institut der Feuerwehr Nordrhein-Westfalen) is the main centre for basic and advanced training for fire brigade managers, special expertise and the management of major emergencies. In addition, the Institute operates four centres of excellence to improve fire and disaster prevention.

  • Aachen Institute for Rescue Medicine & Civil Security (ARS)

    The Aachen Institute for Rescue Medicine & Civil Security (ARS) is a joint institution of the city of Aachen and the University Hospital RWTH Aachen. The institute's goal is to bundle the necessary innovative advancements in prehospital emergency care and medical emergency response within the framework of strategic, practitioner-oriented and scientific cooperation.

  • International Search and Rescue Germany (ISAR) Stiftung gGmbH

    ISAR Germany is a non-profit aid organization founded in 2003 and based in North Rhine-Westphalia. The focus of ISAR Germany's work is national and international disaster control as well as emergency aid after natural disasters, pandemics, man-made accidents and humanitarian catastrophes.

  • Institute for Fire and Rescue Technology of the Dortmund Fire Brigade

    The Institute for Fire and Rescue Technology (Institut für Feuerwehr- und Rettungstechnologie der Feuerwehr Dortmund; IFR) is the research facility of the Dortmund Fire Department and thus part of the Dortmund city administration. The IFR is intended to conduct practical research for the fire brigade in its assigned areas of responsibility. This is usually done in cooperation with other partners from the practitioner, research and business sectors. The task of the IFR is to collect, process and communicate the needs of the fire departments.

  • Association for the Promotion of German Fire Protection (vfdb)

    The Association for the Promotion of German Fire Protection (Vereinigung zur Förderung des Deutschen Brandschutzes e.V.; vfdb) the expert network for protection, rescue and safety. It is a non-profit association with over 3000 individual and corporate members. The vfdb is committed to supporting practitioners, research and networking. The basis for this is formed by specialist group, department and standardization work, a full-time research team, numerous events and an active member network.

  • Bayerisches Zentrum für besondere Einsatzlagen (Bavarian Centre for Special Operations)

    BayZBE gGmbH is a training and simulation centre for emergency services in Bavaria, which is institutionally funded by the BayStMI. In a state-of-the-art training environment, the participants are trained to be able to act quickly and safely in special emergencies such as terrorist attacks or similar unusual dangerous situations.

  • Bavarian Red Cross

    The Bavarian Red Cross (Bayerisches Rotes Kreuz; BRK) is the largest state association of the German Red Cross and part of the worldwide Red Cross movement. The BRK is an important partner in disaster management and is also the operator of various social services providers, such as hospitals, nursing services and kindergartens. BRK is the operator of the largest non-governmental rescue service in Europe.

  • Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V. (St. John Accident Assistance)

    Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V. (JUH) is one of the largest aid organisations in Europe, belonging to the group of authorities and organisations with security tasks, and is at the same time a large company in the social economy sector. The JUH is involved, among other things, in the areas of disaster control, rescue services, care for the elderly, education, work with children and young people and other assistance in the charitable sector as well as in humanitarian aid abroad.

  • Deutsches Rettungsrobotik Zentrum (DRZ)

    The nonprofit Deutsches Rettungsrobotik Zentrum (DRZ) e.V. was founded in 2018 as the carrier of the German Competence Center for Rescue Robotics with the aim of creating a catalyst to accelerate the transfer of rescue robotics technologies into application by connecting competent stakeholders from science, industry, and the circle of practitioners. DRZ is organised in a macroregional structure with a centrally located innovation laboratory.

  • Samaritan International

    Samaritan International is a network of European NGOs based in Cologne. Our members, including the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (Workers' Samaritan Federation), work in rescue and medical services, civil defence, disaster management and social services."

  • Frankfurt am Main Fire Department

    The "Branddirektion Frankfurt am Main" is the central fire administration of the city of Frankfurt am Main. With a workforce of around 1,200 employees, it is responsible for fire protection, rescue services and disaster management.

  • National Coordination Centre for Cyber Security in Industry, Technology and Research (NKCS) at the BSI

    Das NKCS ist das nationale Koordinierungszentrum für Cybersicherheit in Deutschland. Über das NKCS beraten Expertinnen und Experten im Auftrag von vier Bundesbehörden Interessierte, insbesondere auch KMUs und Startups, zu den EU-Förderprogrammen „Digitales Europa“ und „Horizont Europa“. Die Förderprogramme sollen die europäische Cybersicherheit sowie die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit stärken.

  • Malteser Hilfsdienst e.V.

    Since 1953, Malteser Hilfsdienst (MHD) has stood for compassion and solidarity in the service of those in need. Building on our fundamental Christian convictions, we are active in the service of charity at home and abroad. In addition to tasks such as emergency preparedness and first aid training, Malteser Hilfsdienst has also been carrying out its own work in the field of civil security research since 2019.
