As every year, this year's first week of May featured a brainstorming session for new research projects, our so called “Antragswerkstatt I”. What was new this time was that the format was held in person in Berlin for the first time, rather than digitally.
The event, which focused on topics related to research needs assessment, began with a brief introduction to the research framework program "Horizon Europe." This was followed by discussions in small groups on two different call texts. Participants from various disaster relief, police, and research organizations also exchanged their experiences with EU grant applications.
We are pleased to see that more and more German organizations in the field of civil security research are becoming interested in European-context research. During the joint dinner, there was even more opportunity for exchange and further refining of initial ideas and potential partnerships for a joint grant application.
